Last fall the wifey and I embarked on an endeavor to watch every film that has won the Oscar for Best Picture. Starting with Slumdog Millionaire (2008), we’re working our way back. We just finished Shakespeare in Love (1997). My favorites thus far have been Crash (2005) and American Beauty (1999). They’re all powerful movies. I have yet to be disappointed by any of them.

We made a list of Best Picture Winners going back to 1980. Once we get through this list, we’ll add the next couple decades and keep going. We borrow them from Chicago Public Library. (Who needs a video store when you have CPL?) It’s been a fun experiment. I recommend it!
