After reading A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn and a little inspiration from Brock, I have composed a patriotic song in honor of the Native Americans (sung to the tune of “This Land Is Your Land”).

This land was your land.
It was not our land.
We took in from you,
Because our greed grew.
We promised you aid
Then launched a crusade.
This land was made for me, not you.

From out of Fort Knox
We gave you smallpox.
We made you uproot
Your death was acute.
Your children all died,
But none of us cried.
This land was made for me, not you.

So for our nation,
Extermination
Of native people
Preached from the steeple.
We sure tanned your hide
In a genocide.
This land was made for me, not you.
