Hit the breaker.

The lights burn out, and inky darkness floods the windows and doors. The subtle rumble of the A.C. shakes itself out until the silence is dead.

No one knocks on the door of a dark house. There are no backyard barbecues or lawnmowers running Saturday mornings. No more bonfires or late-night movies pass the dark hours.

How long will the house sit empty? Will it weather a cold winter or withstand a hot summer with no milestones to mark days passed?

As houses need to be homes, so people need to dream.
